social force models modification crowd behaviors pedestrians
U491. 1; X928
In order to improve the effectiveness of simulation on behaviors of large-scale population, this paper studies the modification of the social force model based on characteristics of crowd behaviors. Both exit attraction force and friend attraction force are introduced to describe the attraction making pedestrians move toward the exit and the phenomenon in droves, respectively. Effects of the relative velocity on social psychology are considered and the expected velocity is analyzed. A function for the self-expected velocity is proposed, which relates to the left time, distances between pedestrians and speeds of other pedestrians. According to the aforementioned modifications, an improved social force model is obtained. The improved model can simulate crowd behaviors in emergence more realistically.
