Abstract:
In order to avoid the preprocessing of carrier removing,wareform recovery and symboltiming in the modulation recognition algorithms for communication signals, the high-order cumulants are directly used for classification of intermediate frequency digital signal. The high-order cumulant is normalized by the signal power to eliminate the influence of unknown signal amplitudes, so that the proposed algorithm does not require any prior information. Simulation results demonstrate that the classification method based on the high-order cumulant can work well for the signals with different envelopes and the sixth-order cumulant has better performance than the fourth-order cumulant when the signal to noise ratio is high.
