This paper presents a novel dual-band Wilkinson power divider based on a unit of shorted stub loaded coupled microstrip lines( SS-CML) for compact size and easy fabrication. By analyzing the equivalent phase and the equivalent characteristic impedance of the SS-CML unit with an evenodd mode analysis method, the rigorous equations for dual-band Wilkinson power divider design are derived and the frequency ratio range for the power divider is discussed. Finally,a dual-band Wilkinson power divider operating at 1. 43 GHz and 2. 57 GHz is designed, fabricated and measured. Good agreement is achieved between the simulation results and the measurements. The proposed power divider is suitable for small frequency ratio applications.
