To accurately control the multi-cylinder variable blank holding force( VBHF) for protecting the blank forming quality of hydraulic press and optimizing the process of blank forming,a hydraulic control system is proposed to realize the intelligent forecast and control of VBHF. According to mould geometry parameters,blank geometry parameters,material mechanical parameters and processing parameters, a n intelligent VBHF forecast model is proposed based on the BP neural network. Both of the response performance improvement and the intelligent control approach of the VBHF hydraulic loop are discussed. The accuracy compensation of the VBHF proportional integration differential control is realized by intelligent adaptive approach. Simulation and experimental results indicate that the forecast and intelligent control of VBHF for blank forming are realized effectively by this approach, which offers a theoretical support for the design of VBHF hydraulic press.
