Aggregate is the key component in resin mineral composite(RMC)to bear loads and its gradation design and size effect corresponding to different aggregate dimension determines the mechanical properties of RMC.An optimal method to determine the critical dimension of screen holes is proposed based on the particle interference theory.A fractal method is adopted to adjust the corresponding proportion of each component in order to form an effective evaluation parameter of aggregate size effect.A simplified micro-stress transfer model of aggregate is established.The variation tendency of frame strength is acquired by simulation.The compressive strength of the representative RMC samples is measured to validate the aforementioned assumptions.Experimental results of aggregate gradation are consistent with the simulation results.Increasing aggregate dimension reasonably can not only improve the mechanical properties of the RMC,but also decrease the usage amount of resin effectively.
