building integrated photovoltaics semitransparent cell silicon thin film solar cell efficiency transparency transfer matrix AMPS-1D indium tin oxide electrode thickness
To research the relationship between the efficiency and transparency of a semitransparent silicon thin film solar cell, the quantitative relationship is simulated using a transfer matrix and AMPS-1D software.Taking the transparency and efficiency into account,an evaluation index is established to evaluate the properties of the semitransparent silicon thin film solar cell used in building integrated photovoltaics(BIPV).The effect of the indium tin oxide(ITO)electrode thickness on the transparency of the cell is analyzed. The simulation results show that for the optimal amorphous and microcrystalline semitransparent silicon thin film solar cells, the efficiency is 4.7% and 4.6% respectively, and the transparency is 56% and 49% respectively, and a reasonable thickness of ITO can improve the transparency by 3%.
