Abstract:
In order to study the toughness of asphalt mixture affected by basalt fiber,AC-13C and SMA-13 are selected,and Marshall specimens are chosen to do the indirect stretching tests by using the UTM-25 test machine.Based on the microscopic observation of fiber asphalt mixture by using scanning electron microscopy,the influence and toughening mechanism of mixtures affected by fiber are analyzed.The results show that mixture's toughness index increases greatly by adding the basalt fiber,and also the anti-cracking performance of the mixtures are improved.Fiber forms a three-dimensional network structure in the asphalt mixture and has a good cohesive force with the asphalt,which makes the energy release rate be reduced and the extension of cracks be delayed.
