A novel identification algorithm for road friction coefficient is proposed based on vehicle lateral dynamics to improve the control performance of 2-channel active stabilizer bar(ASB)system for the yaw stability of vehicles.The nonlinear factor is calculated by fuzzy rules,and the initial value of road friction coefficient is generated by the estimation model.The final estimation value of road friction coefficient is processed using a filter process algorithm and adopted by 2-channel ASB.The algorithm is simulated on high-friction,middle-friction,low-friction road and split road using MATLAB/Simulink.Simulation results show that the algorithm can identify road friction condition effectively.Two-channel ASB can adjust control algorithms according to the road condition,and the yaw stability of vehicles is improved.
