Abstract:
A novel Cd(Ⅱ)complex,namely {[Cd(immb)(bdic)(H2O)]·H2O}n(1),is prepared by the hydrothermal reaction of CdCl2·2.5H2O with 2-(1H-imidazol-1-methyl)-6-methyl-1H-benzimidazole(immb)and 1,3-benzenedicarboxylic acid(H2bdic)at 120 ℃. It is characterized by the elemental analysis,infrared spectroscopy(IR),single crystal structure analysis,powder diffraction pattern analysis,thermal stability analysis,fluorescence excitation and emission spectra analysis. Complex(1)belongs to triclinic system,space group P-1. Cd(Ⅱ)ion is seven-coordinated and bridged by immb ligands and bdic2- anions leading to a two-dimensional(2D)network,which are further extended to three-dimensional(3D)supramolecular structure by hydrogen bonds. Upon excitation at 269 nm,the title complex exhibits intense emission at 331 nm at room temperature for the solid state.
